PICOS DE EUROPA
The mountains, perhaps, the most incredible in the whole country. Declared Spain's first National Park in 1918, and one of the first in Europe, it is the great landscape jewel of the Cantabrian Sea. Its proximity to the coast, with the abundant formation of fog and low mist, often creates impressive landscapes. But it is its orography of grand slopes, some like the Cares among the largest in Europe, its main characteristic. Needles, ridges, jous (holes), sinkholes and gorges are some of the geographical features we will find in this wonderful high mountain environment.
